Timing-based Deckbuilder Prototype
This is a prototype for a Timing Based Deckbuilder. The game is still very early in development, but this should be enough to introduce some of the mechanics and test to see if the game concept will work.
THIS IS A PROTOTYPE. While I would like to use these mechanics in a full game someday, this is more of an experiment to determine how these mechanics could work, than it is an actual game. it is has art assets made in MSPaint and very little polish. Appreciate the derpy little animations and the unpolished art while you can.
There are 2 core mechanics of this deckbuilder that make it unique. most cards interact with them in some way
Combo: Cards get bonus effects if you queue up another card to play before their animation finishes.
Block: during enemy turns you can discard a card just before an enemy hits you to prevent some of the damage. some cards give you a bonus effect if you time them correctly. Blocking has a short cooldown so you need to get the timing down.
Keyword reminders haven't been implemented so I'll just drop em here:
Revenge: on a successful block cast a copy* of the card for free targeting the attacker, (the trade off is that these cards have very low or even negative block and cannot trigger combos when played this way)
Finisher: if you end a combo with this card get this bonus effect.
